This place is legendary for a reason! Open til super late.
Great food, amazingly fresh seafood. Always busy.
Delicious traditional Chinese dishes. Plenty of live seafood in the fish tanks. Fast efficient service -

Is popular for their seafood, but service is very slow even when the Restaurant was half empty. Food did not taste as good as it used to. It has deteriorated significantly. Takes forever to get the bill! And what a bill. Definitely over priced. Undoubtedly much better value elsewhere.

Typical Chinese restaurant serving Cantonese style food. We stopped in to try their seafood.
Wished we had a larger group so that we could have tried the variety of fresh seafood. We ordered a few dim sum dishes and mud crab served with vermicelli. The crab was pretty tasty but the dim sum was just average. -

We came here because my dad and the original owner were acquaintances back in Hong Kong. So we checked this out after a disappointing start at Zilver upon our day tour guide's rec.
They are right by the Sussex Centre and has 2 levels with escalators.
They have fresh seafood as you could tell by their live seafood in the tanks by the entrance. We were seated promptly and the staff who helped us was a training staff. He answered our questions about the menu, and we proceeded to order the lobster with scallions and ginger, choisum and cod, and lamb claypot. At 1.6 kg, the lobster looked lively when the staff brought it to us to confirm that we're satisfied with its size. we requested low salt and no msg in all our dishes.
On the house:
1. soup of the day was a pork bone broth with clear fungi and pork. It was really delicious! It tasted like home cooked, no extra seasoning like msg! Very soothing!
2. Post-meal dessert: This was a 4-course ending!
An egg drop tofu skin sweet soup - I haven't had this in ages and the tofu skin is so fresh because it is super tender!
Watermelon, butter cookies, and a Chinese fried pastry cookie.
The lobster was really good. It was covered in a very very thin batter. The lobster was cooked just perfectly, 30 seconds less would've been too raw, and a minute more would've been overcooked. It was one of the best lobster I've had!
The choisum and cod dish was delicious and fresh. The choisum was sweet and tender, and the cod was flaky and cooked just right. The seasoning was perfect in this just like the lobster! The only disappointment was the claypot of lamb. It was probably marinated in baking soda so long that it tasted nothing like lamb, but like beef instead. The sauce was like a bbq-type Mongolian sauce but it wasn't too sweet at all. It could've been a perfect meal!
This was probably a good Chinese seafood meal I've had in a long long time. The price was definitely steep with the live seafood dish, but the other dishes are worth exploring too! -
